MUSICAL LANDMARKS
Familiar melodies. Extraordinary addresses.
Somewhere within the Library are melodies that sound remarkably familiar. Musical Landmarks will connect recognizable musical passages with their permanent mathematical addresses, revealing the relationship between musical history and mathematical possibility.

How musical landmarks will work
Each passage will be checked against an attributed musical source and the Library’s single-bar model. Entries will identify the work, composer, source, permanent numerical ID, musical address, and whether the match is exact or involves a documented adaptation.
The Library describes one 4/4 bar within one chromatic octave. A mathematical match does not establish authorship or originality. Several works may reference the same musical sequence and address.
A collection taking shape
No verified landmarks have been published yet. We are preparing the collection carefully, one sourced passage at a time.
