One-bar template

Four beats, eight 1/32 cells per beat. Drag a toolbar note onto any cell, or drag across cells to set its length. Drag a block’s end handle to extend or shorten it. You can also choose a tool and tap/click a cell.

Choose a note length, Rest, X or ?, then tap or drag onto the staff. Notes snap to staff pitch and rhythmic division. In Select mode, drag a block to move it or its end handle to resize it. Selected blocks are highlighted in both views. On the focused staff, arrow keys adjust onset/pitch, Enter places, and Delete clears.

The staff follows grid edits immediately. X and ? mark unresolved time, not rests; only complete melodies receive an ID and can be played.

X fills its region with any valid note/rest combination. ? chooses one random pitch with the duration you set. Rest fixes silence. Notes use the canonical C4–C5 range.
